Kurt was sitting on the edge of his bed when Blaine came in, and almost immediately pocketed his cellphone, patting the space next to him. “Have a seat,” he murmured, smiling softly. He hadnt seen much of Blaine lately, and seeing the other male up close, in reality and not just his thoughts, with the details of morning stubble and dark curls catching the light from overhead stole Kurt’s breath away.
He knew Blaine probably didn’t know what he wanted to talk about, and he was probably, as always, off assuming the worst. Kurt lifted his hand from where it was resting on the bed, grasping Blaine’s own with it and gently leading his fiancé to sit down next to him, close enough that their legs were pressed against each other. “Blaine Anderson,” Kurt spoke calmly, rubbing soothing circles on the back of Blaine’s hand with his thumb. Inside, however, Kurt wasn’t as composed ad he looked, his heart beating like a hummingbird’s wings.
Moving his gaze from the tan skin of the hand interlocked with his own, Kurt found himself looking into hazel eyes tinged with summer gold and thick curls nestled above and over his forehead. Kurt took a deep breath, his lips curving into a small nervous smile as he bowed his head a little, still maintaining eye contact with Blaine. “I know I said I wouldn’t - we wouldn’t - but…” shifting closer, pressing his free hand onto their twined ones, Kurt breathed in. “I want to get married.”
Blaine’s eyes widened a fraction at the breathy words Kurt released. He was certainly not expecting that. His eyelashes fluttered as his eyes broke contact from the breathtaking spectrum of blue, gray, and green to gaze down at the ground to take a brief moment to realize this was actually happening. Because he, Kurt Hummel, the love of his life, had just confessed what he was willing to do with him. With him.
Soon after the words had finally sank in, he turned to face the other man, an uneven grin decorating his lips. “You do?” Blaine exhaled. His eyes brightened and he finally noticed the rush of heat hastily making it’s way into his cheeks. A hand that was tangled with the other male’s tightened slightly and he could feel his stomach clench at the small gesture, because he was holding hands with the one person he genuinely loves, and this is the person he’s going to marry and the person he’s going to have a future with and the person he’s raising a son with.
Blaine’s mouth parted to say something, but only ragged breaths were inhaled. He swallowed roughly, letting a tongue peek out to sweep in between his lips. His breathing accelerated and he nodded in an understanding way. “Well, I’m glad.” Blaine let his grin widen shamelessly. “Because I’d love to get married as well.”
Blaine was busy having a Disney marathon by himself, because Disney movies always seemed to soothe him. Whether it be singing along with the songs within the movie or just watching the movie itself. He’s been searching for Brittany recently, and still no sign whatsoever. Artie and he decided to hold off on the search until Brittany was more specific with her location. Hopefully she was able to survive off there for a day or two, or, at least, until she decided to post something and whatnot.
Blaine examined the post Kurt had just recently posted and it reminded him that Kurt was eager to have this talk sometime, despite him letting Blaine sleep, because sleep is obviously important when making an effort to find a girl lost by zombie animals and a hat store. He turned the television off in an instant after replying to his fiancé, and advanced towards the room Kurt was staying in.
Blaine was feeling slightly anxious at the few words stated clearly that Kurt needed to have a talk with him. He acknowledges that Kurt told him he hasn’t done anything wrong, but a fragment of him was still uneasy. If there really was something wrong that he’s done and Kurt just didn’t want to say it publicly, he’s really hoping for the best right now. Once Blaine reached his destination, he stood before the door that belonged to the room Kurt was staying in. He grabbed hold of the knob and turned it before he took a step in, searching for the other. “Knock, knock?”
We need to talk.
Oh, right. Of course.
Perfect. That’s exactly what should come to mind. I still have that Bullaine Cowerson plush he gave me. Wh - Blaine, where do you get off thinking that? No, no, no. You didn’t say anything wrong, ok, honey? Don’t be sorry for something you haven’t done. But you said you were exhausted and I’d rather not keep you awake for any longer than necessary. So you head on to bed, ok?
Ha, ha. Very funny, dear. What? He gave you a Bullaine Cowerson plush? How’d he manage to get hands on such a thing? Oh, I just assumed.. You seemed like you were upset with me at first. I’m probably over-thinking things. I apologize. I mean, I suppose I am a bit tired. Will you do me the honor of being my cuddle buddy for tonight, Kurt Hummel?
A few words are all the words needed, sometimes. And believe me when I say that with a few words, you know how to charm anyone. Good. Because I’m happy with you. I know I always will be. With you and Danny both.
Well of course, it’s my favorite nickname for you. Other than Blunnie, Blainicorn and Prince Eric, of course. Oh. Ok then. Well, when you’re feeling a little less exhausted, come up to my room ok? There’s something I want to talk about with you, and I’d rather not do it over the internet …
Well, as long as I’m able to charm you, I’m completely satisfied. ;) Oh, I’m relieved. It’s nice to have a family who’s happy with each other.
Yes. A couple of the nicknames out of many others. You’re lucky I find them adorable at times, otherwise I wouldn’t approve of them at all. Oh? … Now you’re just making me anxious. I’ll come now.
At times? What, you don’t find my nicknames adorable all the time, Bullaine? No, it’s fine Blaine. Really. If you’re tired, I suppose this can wait until later …
See, Bullaine Cowerson just brings back memories to that horrid picture Jack once made of my face on a cow’s head. Not exactly adorable. What? No. Did I say something wrong again? I - I’m sorry.
